2014 Changes | Ashley Cook Photography |

Lots of things have happened in the last few months.  I became a momma to two sweet babies when we welcomed Noah into the world on December 3rd. I have been helping plan two wedding in our family. We have been trying to finish our house (that is a never ending project lol ).  And the always growing photography to-do list has only grown more in the months that I have been on “Maternity leave”. I have started a bucket list of locations that I am dying to shoot at and really hoping to cross some of them off my list this year. Hint, Hint 😉 I know that does sound like a lot of things but trust me it is!

While I have been on Maternity leave I have loved the time that I have got to spend with my family. But in all fairness my mind has been on my business a lot. About this time last year I wrote a post talking about specializing. So in 2013 I made it my goal to ask myself a few questions every time I did a shoot. The answers that I came up with have now made things much more clear to me. When I officially return from my maternity leave, on May 1st, I will be booking a limited amount of children and family sessions for the rest of this year. I hope to be able to shift my focus more toward Weddings, Glamour and Senior girls. I found myself really loving those type of sessions last year and want to do more of them.

I am also making a commitment to spend more time with my family this year. My little lady will be starting Kindergarten soon (where did the time go…?) and our little man is growing right before our eye. I need to learn to slow down and enjoy the little moments in life. That being said, I am finally getting around to posting some of my Maternity images and some of our sweet boy.
